Vermont Roots and Community: Meredith, Magic Mann, And The Global Indigenous Peoples Fund

Written By: Dan Pomerantz (Ganja D)

Hi there, some of you may not know that I am a senior editor at @skunkmagazine.

I’ve been reading Skunk since it first came out of Quebec in 2003, and have been affiliated with the magazine since 2012, when Skunk largely switched its focus over to craft cannabis culture in California.

Previously our Editor in Chief @juliechiariello passed the torch of writing the breeder diaries column from Skunks founder John Vergados over to me, which I intend to still keep doing.

Now that I am based mostly on the East Coast, I’m excited to introduce a new column featuring inspiring stories from the Northeast: Vermont Roots and Community.

For the first volume, I discuss the past legacy of Vermont’s back to the land movement. Did you know the first communes in the country were in Vermont and New York?

Then the main feature of the story is about Meredith Mann, co-owner of @magicmannvt and founder of The Magic Mann Global Indigenous Peoples Fund.

Meredith has been a long time medical cannabis patient advocate, and local industry leader. Her experience and lifelong passion and dedication to helping give back to Indigenous Peoples led her to bringing Vermont’s cannabis community together to contribute to a wonderful grant program, and more, via @pennywise_foundation.

The end of the article also features a shout out to some of the awesome women small businesses owners leading the way in Vt.
